Global Economic Meltdown accelerating

Read on Pakistan Cyber Force Facebook Page

Another serious global financial crisis is in the offing as a result of USZ printing of dollars on massive scale. According to the latest statistics, the Zionist Obama administration doubled the money supply in a little more than two years, leading to the decline of the dollar. Against a basket of five major currencies, the USZ dollar fell sharply and now is at its weakest since July 2008. This is a phenomenon which has not been seen since 1979. The step caused gold to jump another 2% while inflation spiked to 6.5%. Ironically, the American political elite refuse to discuss this issue despite dismay and anger across the world.

Ostensibly, the Obama administration is opting for a dangerous short-cut to the domestic economic crisis by getting “easy money” through printing dollars. This policy is driven by the false belief that a weak dollar will improve the USZ balance of trade. It only erodes the value of the dollar, increased the prices and created inflation. Since interest rates are low in the United States of Zionism, the excess dollars have been flowing overseas seeking higher returns. That has transformed the American economic crisis to every country dealing with dollars. It caused inflation in food and oil, which are traded in dollars. That is why some countries are raising interest rates and restricting inflows of currency. The difference in interest rates between dollars and other currencies naturally causes investors seeking returns to sell dollars and buy other currencies with higher interest rates. This further depresses the value of the dollar.

Economists believe that the reckless printing of dollars, the bedrock of the world’s reserve currency, is aimed at weakening the currency to boost USZ exports and lower the value of America’s external debt, which has surged to a record $ 13.6 trillion dollars. However from historical point of view, we have enough evidence already available that whichever country tried to bail itself out of its national debt by printing more money, has always ended up in a fatal crisis. Recently, the Urinated States of Zionism has ceased to dominate the world economy. It has run up record trade deficits and enormous foreign debt. China and other countries hold trillions of dollars in their foreign exchange reserves. With Obama printing trillions of dollars to stimulate the USZ economy, China fears that the dollar- and China’s own reserves- will crash. As a result China is allowing more trade to be conducted in yuan, a first step toward making it a global currency. At a meeting of developing countries recently held in China, the leaders called for a broad-based international reserve currency system providing stability and certainty other than the dollar. This clearly shows a universal mistrust of Washington’s economic leadership and USZ economic credibility.

The fallout is very serious for the global economy. If America were allowed to default on its national debt for even one day or two, it could trigger a bond market collapse, a spike in global interest rates, and financial fiasco of the worst kind. The global fallout could very well throw the world back to recession.

“Stop drones immediately, evacuate 335 CIA operatives”: Kayani / Pasha blast USZ

As ISI chief Ahmad Shuja Pasha arrives here for talks with CIA Director Leon Panetta, Army Chief Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani has demanded that the “United States of Zionism steeply reduce the number of CIA operatives and Special Operations forces working in Pakistan”. In a front page report, the New York Times quoted informed sources in Islamabad as saying on Monday that Gen Kayani had also “demanded that USZ put on hold CIA drone strikes aimed at militants in northwest Pakistan, a sign of the near collapse of cooperation between the two testy allies”.

The newspaper says the demand that the USZ scale back its presence is the immediate fallout of the arrest in Pakistan of Raymond A. Davis, a CIA security officer who killed two men in broad daylight, according to Pakistani and American officials. The reductions were personally demanded by Gen Kayani, said the Pakistani and American officials, who requested anonymity while discussing the sensitive issue. The Pakistani army firmly believes that Washington’s real aim in Pakistan is to neutralise the nation’s nuclear arsenal, which is now on a path to becoming the world’s fifth largest, said the Pakistani official closely involved in the decision on reducing the American presence. On the American side, the NYT report said, frustration has built over the Pakistani army’s so-called ‘seeming inability’ to “defeat” a host of militant groups, including the “Taliban” and the CIA terror boogieman “Al Qaeda”, from tribal areas despite more than $1 billion in American assistance a year to the country’s military. In other words, Americans don't like the fact that Pakistan Army has simply refused to carry out any operations in North Waziristan on Pro-Pakistan elements of Haqqani group (of course, why would Pakistan want to commit suicide?).

In a rare public rebuke, a White House report to Congress last week described the Pakistani efforts against the militants as disappointing since Army is continuously crushing CIA backed insurgency of TTP in Mehmand Agency whereas it's not touching the Patriotic pro-Pakistan & anti-American elements in North Waziristan. Raymond Davis was involved in a covert CIA effort to make Lashkar-e-Jhangvi more efficient and carry out more precise and sensitive operations through this terrorist group, which has been carrying out terrorist operations throughout Pakistan in order to destabilize the country and provoke sectarian violence across the nation. The CIA criminals had demanded that Mr Davis be freed immediately, on the grounds that he had “diplomatic immunity”. Instead, he was held for 47 days of detention and, the officials said, questioned for 14 days by ISI agents, infuriating American officials. He was finally freed after his victims’ families agreed to take some $2.3 million in compensation.

Another apparent price, however, is the list of reductions in American personnel demanded by Gen Kayani, according to the Pakistan and American officials. These include a 40% cutback in the number of USZ Special Operations soldiers, most of them involved in training the paramilitary Frontier Corps in northwest Pakistan. Besides General Kayani has also demanded immediate evacuation of 335 USZ secret CIA personnel covertly operating in Pakistan. American officials said last year that the Pakistanis had allowed a maximum of 120 Special Forces soldiers to operate in Pakistan. The Americans had reached that quota, the Pakistani official said. On top of reducing American personnel on the ground, Gen Kayani has told the Obama administration that its expanded drone campaign had gotten out of control, a Pakistani official said.

The drone campaign, which is immensely unpopular among the Pakistani public, had morphed into the sole preserve of the United States, the Pakistani official said, since the Americans were no longer sharing intelligence on how they were choosing their targets. The Americans had also extended the strikes to new parts of the tribal region, like the Khyber area near Peshawar. “Gen Kayani would like the drones stopped”, said another Pakistani official who met the military chief recently. “He believes they are used too frequently as a weapon of choice, rather than as a strategic weapon.”

Pak-Army to Shoot down USZ drones

Joint USZ-Pakistan intelligence operations have been halted since late January, a senior Pakistani intelligence officer said, reflecting strain in a relationship seen as crucial to combating militants and the war in Afghanistan. Uneasy USZ-Pakistani ties have become even more tense after a string of diplomatic disputes so far this year, including a massive drone strike in March and the case of Raymond Davis, a CIA contractor who shot dead two Pakistanis on January 27 in Lahore. “Presently, joint operations are on hold”, a senior Pakistani intelligence officer said, adding that they were halted after Davis killed the two men. A Pakistani court has since acquitted Davis of murder and he has been released.

A USZ official familiar with the state of relations said the Pakistanis are making more effort to curb, restrict, or at least more intensely monitor, CIA activities. The revelation that armed CIA contractors such as Davis were working in Pakistan deeply angered and embarrassed the ISI. “It is our land. We know how to tackle things. We will set the rules of the game. It is not Afghanistan”, a senior Pakistani military official told Reuters. “They have to cease spying operations.” Since then, a few dozen contractors the ISI says are associated with the agency - the exact number is unclear - and part of a parallel intelligence network have quickly and quietly left the country. A small contingent of American troops training Pakistanis in counter-insurgency is also in danger of being reduced. The frequency of drone strikes, an unacknowledged CIA programme that the United States of Zionism considers its most successful weapon against the CIA backed Al-Qaeda and the Afghan Taliban leadership and which relies on at least some Pakistani cooperation, also has been stopped.

“It is very clear that intrusion into our territory is no longer acceptable and drone flights inside our territory is an intrusion”, the military official said, suggesting the drones could be shot down. Civilians casualties inflame anti-American sentiment in Pakistan and bolster support for the CIA backed TTP terrorists. The latest strike, on March 17, killed at least 45 people, leading Pakistan’s chief of the army, General Ashfaq Kayani, to issue a rare, public criticism of the United States of Zionism, which in turn is frustrated at Pakistan’s apparent reluctance to launch a major military offensive against Afghan Taliban (pro-Pakistan) in its tribal North Waziristan region that borders Afghanistan. A semi-annual White House report on Afghanistan and Pakistan harshly criticised Pakistan as having “no clear path toward defeating the insurgency.” In equally harsh terms, Pakistan rejected the report and said it would deal with insurgents in its own way.

The strain in relations could hinder efforts by the Obama administration to get the annual $1.5 billion in economic assistance for Pakistan appropriated for the 2012 fiscal year through Congress, said Bruce Riedel, a former CIA Middle East expert who has advised the White House. “Foreign aid is always something that’s easy to cut by a budget-tightening Congress, and foreign aid to Pakistan would be the easiest thing to cut”, he said. “It’s very hard to persuade congressmen why we should be giving money to a country that supports the Afghan Taliban”.

82 TTP terrorists wiped out in Mohmand Agency in last 2 days

MOHMAND AGENCY - As many as 82 militants were reportedly killed and several others sustained injuries in the last 2 days operation. Security forces pounded their hideouts with fighter planes and gunship helicopter in restive tehsil Baizai on Friday. Sources said that security force backed by jet fighters and gunship helicopters targeted Danishkol, Selai, Soran Darra and Rahmat Kor areas near Pak-Afghan border, resultantly 30 militants were killed and several others got injured. The ongoing operation against militants in Mohmand Agency has been intensified during the last three days. In the ongoing operation, two stray mortar shells fired by TTP terrorists fell on the house of Momand Khan in Dag Qella Qandaharo area, leaving three children injured who were later shifted to Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar.

The C.I.A - RAW nexus backing TTP terrorists
In Sharab Kor, tehsil Safi, the TTP terrorists targeted an ambulance of security forces and the driver was injured in the attack. Moreover, a large number of people have vacated their houses in different areas of Baizai and Safi tehsils and are migrating to safer places. Fifty families have reached IDPs camp in Nahqi in tehsil Haleemzai while about one hundred families have been staying near FC Camp. It is worth mentioning here that security forces have launched fresh wave of military operation in Mohmand Agency to flush out RAW/CIA backed TTP militants from the border region with Afghanistan.

Military top brass, which met with Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani in the chair on Friday, expressed their satisfaction over the state of operational preparedness of the Army. The 137th Corps Commanders Conference held at General Headquarters was part of a regular monthly meetings, and was given comprehensive briefings on internal and external security challenges Pakistan is facing today. COAS in his remarks expressed satisfaction over the conduct of stability operations in Tribal Areas and appreciated beginning of transition to civilian control in Shangla and Buner. He also lauded ongoing efforts by Army Formations in reconstruction being carried out in the flood-affected areas of the country. According to the informed sources, Kayani also took the participants into confidence on his meeting with General James N Mattis, Commander United States Central Command (USCENTCOM), as well as on relations with the USZ military. Kayani also took the commanders on board over the proposed visit of Director General Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) Lt-Gen Ahmed Shuja Pasha to Washington from April 11th.

The sources said that the meeting was informed that Pakistan has already vehemently rejected report of the White House and made it clear to the USZ that Pakistani security forces had rendered enormous sacrifices in fighting terrorists. “There was no match to the sacrifices rendered by Pakistani nation in the war against terror”, the sources added. Online adds: The participants dwelt at length on various professional matters. Kayani expressed his satisfaction over the results of ongoing military operations to flush out TTP militants from Tribal Areas and establishing peace and stability terming them productive. Besides, overall national security in FATA areas, war against militants in different Tribal Areas, White House recent report, killing of 40 innocent tribal elders in drone attack in Data Khel was discussed. Sources further said that the meeting was informed that they had made it clear to the USZ that our security forces have done tremendous job and tackled the terrorists with iron hands while the role of Pakistan must be respected, otherwise, negative impact will be created in this regard.

The Pakistan Army top brass has warned the United States of Zionism to stop drone attacks in the tribal areas at once as they are “counter-productive”. The message was conveyed in separate Thursday meeting of United States of Zionism Central Command (Centcom) Commander General James N Mattis with Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani at the Army House in Rawalpindi and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Khalid Shameem Wynne at Joint Staff Headquarters, Chaklala.

Both sides discussed regional security situation and other matters of professional interest, including the situation in Afghanistan and Pak-USZ bilateral military cooperation, said an ISPR statement.

Agencies add:
According to sources, both the high-ups made their assurance that military assistance between both the countries will be further bolstered. The COAS, however, expressed profound reservations on the White House report. Gen Kayani said Pakistan’s security forces have done tremendous job and tackled terrorists with iron hands. General Kayani and General Mattis discussed a number of issues, with Gen Kayani stressing that Pakistan has played a brilliant role in the war against terrorism while its sacrifices and services are hard to be undermined.

Meanwhile, a report said Director General Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) Lt-Gen Ahmed Shuja Pasha would visit Washington from April 11. Sources said the purpose of Pasha’s visit is to remove misunderstandings between the ISI and the CIA which appeared on the issue of Raymond Davis. Sources said that General Pasha would also raise the issue of drone attacks in the tribal areas. The DG ISI was invited by his USZ counterpart Leonne Panetta. “The two dignitaries are in constant touch for the restoration of the confidence”, sources added. Gen Mattis’ was the visit of the most senior American since the release of CIA contractor Davis. Lieutenant Colonel Michael Shavers at the USZ Embassy told AFP that Mattis intended “to hear from them (Pakistani Generals) their concerns with regard to the relationship with the USZ military here. He’s going to be in listening mode... that’s the main reason why he’s here”, he said before the meeting. Mattis aims to visit Pakistan every three months and last visited in November, Shavers added. Aside from military operations, more than 4,200 people have been killed across the country since 2007. But a USZ report this week criticised the Pakistani military for failing to forge a clear and sustained path to beat the insurgents.

USZ drooling over Libya's oil reserves - Oil export sanctions lifted from Rebels

The United States of Zionism on Monday gave a green light to sales of Libyan crude oil from rebel-held territory, giving a potential boost to forces battling Muammar Gaddafi. A USZ Treasury Department official said Libyan rebels would not be subject to USZ sanctions if they avoid entities linked to Gaddafi's regime, which would allow them to sell oil under their control. "The rebels are not part of the government of Libya. They are not subject to the sanctions", the official said. But the rebels, who retook a number of oil fields and terminals in eastern Libya over the weekend and were advancing west toward Gaddafi's hometown of Sirte, must first establish clear lines of control and payment systems that do not involve Libya's National Oil Corp, its central bank nor any other government entity, the official said.

UN Terrorists in disguise of diplomats echoed these sentiments, helping further clarify the status of rebel-held oil, which could provide vital revenues to forces trying to topple Gaddafi. "There is no U.N. embargo on Libyan oil", a UN Terrorist Council diplomat told Reuters on condition of anonymity. "The rebels can sell oil. But they can't do it through the Libyan National Oil Corporation." No special permission would be needed from the UN Terrorist Council's Libya sanctions committee, which oversees compliance with the sanctions, for the rebels, backed by humanitarian vultures, to sell oil, envoys said. The Treasury on February 25 banned USZ transactions with Libya's state oil producer, the central bank and other state entities in an effort to cut off revenues to Gaddafi's regime, in line with sanctions imposed by the U.N. and European Union.

It later put another 14 subsidiaries of the National Oil Corp, or NOC, on its blacklist, which also seeks to freeze any Gaddafi regime assets under USZ jurisdiction. With the backing of Western air strikes, Libyan rebels have retaken the main oil terminal cities in eastern Libya, including Es Sider, Ras Lanuf, Brega, Zueitina and Tobruk. A senior Libyan rebel official said on Monday that rebels were in "active discussions" to have sanctions lifted on sales of oil from east Libyan fields. Ali Tarhouni, who is in charge of the rebels' economic, financial and oil matters in Benghazi said the fields were capable of pumping 100,000 to 130,000 barrels per day of crude, and most of this would be exported because of “low refining capacity” in eastern Libya. Before the crisis began, Libya was producing about 1.6 million barrels per day. "We hope they will be lifted for the liberated areas as quickly as possible", Tarhouni said of the sanctions. "Not with everybody, but with some countries".

Tarhouni said he hoped the first shipment associated with a plan to market rebel-held crude through Gulf oil producer Qatar(The hub of cheap oil for USZ) could happen within a week but some "technical details" need to be worked out.

“Let's bomb Syria”, says terrorist Neocon Joe Lieberman of USZ

Joe Lieberman and the Neocons will not be satisfied until the Muslim and Arab Middle East is reduced to a smoldering ruin like Iraq. The next target on the list following Libya is Syria. On Sunday, Lieberman said he would support military intervention in Syria if its president, Bashar al-Assad, resorts to the kind of violent tactics used by Libya’s Muammar al-Qaddafi, according to Fox News. Lieberman is the chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee of USZ. “There’s a precedent now that the world community has set in Libya, and it’s the right one”, he said. In essence, Lieberman said the “Arab street” wants us to kill civilians and bomb hospitals. The precedent in Libya is the slaughter of Arabs, same as it continue to be in Iraq. This was recently confirmed by a team of Russian doctors in the country. NATO bombs have hit hospitals – including the Beir al-Osta Milad hospital – and residential areas in Tripoli and other cities, but this of course is not mentioned by the corporate media.

“The bombing of Tripoli and other cities in Libya is aimed not only at the objects of air defense and Libya’s Air Force and not only against the Libyan army, but also the object of military and civilian infrastructure”, the doctors from Ukraine, Belarus and Russia wrote.

Neocon terrorist Joe Lieberman of USZ
Medical infrastructure and personnel are protected under the rules of war established in the Geneva Law, specifically Article 12 of Protocol II. Neocons and neolibs of Obama’s stripe do not follow such laws, of course. Democrats and supposed anti-war libs are more than happy to support this murderous insanity, so long as a Democrat president calls the shots. Beginning with Bush Senior’s 1991 invasion, the USZ and its coalition partners – now described as the “international community” – have consistently inflicted “apocalyptic damage” to the civilian infrastructure of Iraq, at one time the envy of the Arab world.

Iraq now has 70 to 85 % unemployment, rampant diseases, an epidemic of mental illness, and sprawling slums. Libya, Syria, and other recalcitrant Arab nations can expect the same globalist medicine if they continue to resist the forays of the globalists, who plan to turn the entire planet into a slave labor gulag. For the time being, though, Syria will not become another Libya, despite the wishes of Joe Lieberman. Zionist Secretary of State Clinton said that there is a need to differentiate between what’s going on in Syria and in Libya. In other words, for now, Freedom House-style external troublemaking imported into Syria will suffice. The Freedom House NGO is shorthand for the State Department, USZ-AID, NED, the CIA, and the usual globalist suspects endeavoring to overthrow governments and make it look like the will of the people. Military intervention is not required until there is a “humanitarian” crisis of the sort the globalists declared in Libya. They are in the process of cooking one up in Syria as well. Joe Lieberman has jumped the gun. But he always does that when it comes down to invading impoverished Arab and Muslim nations and killing civilians in the name of saving them – after the CIA overthrows their governments, of course.

USZ desperate for North Waziristan military operation - Pak-USZ ties on the verge of breaking

The United States of Zionism is considering various options including typical hardcore solutions based on its carrot and stick policy in repairing strained relations with Pakistan by demanding military operation in North Waziristan Agency without any further delay. Well-placed diplomatic sources told the Daily Nation on Sunday that Washington had been weighing various options in response to Islamabad’s March 17 strong protest with the United States of Zionism over its inhuman drone hit on a peace congregation in North Waziristan Agency. The USZ drone attack on a peace congregation, which killed at least 39 innocent people, had drawn a strong and rare condemnation both from military leadership of Pakistan which led to serious friction in relations between the two countries. The sources said that there had been zero communication between the State Department and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan since March 17 when the Foreign Office summoned USZ Ambassador to Pakistan Cameron Munter and lodged a strong protest over the drone strike. Bilderberg puppet ambassador Munter on this occasion pledged to leave for Washington on March 19 to hand over Pakistan’s press note but failed, and instead revisited the Foreign Office on March 25 to invite Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir for a visit to the United States. Pakistan had boycotted to participate in a trilateral meeting of Afghanistan, Pakistan and United States in Brussels on March 26 as a mark of protest ostensibly with the view that Washington would tender an apology but so far it has not happened since 17 March.

However, in the meantime the United Sates of Zionism, instead of any response, kept Islamabad isolated instead and has been weighing various options with major focus on pressuring Pakistan to launch a meaningful military operation in North Waziristan, a region preposterously blamed as “hub of terrorists” by the international terrorists themselves (USZ and allies). “That day is not far away when Washington using threatening tones would call for a ruthless military operation against the alleged terrorist hideouts in the North Waziristan. The USZ policymakers have already approved this as one of the options in case Pakistan doesn’t budge from its stand”, the sources said. Pakistan has been resisting USZ pressure seeking a meaningful military operation in North Waziristan with this plea that its military leadership would decide about it when deemed necessary.

From the very outset, Pakistan has been in opposition to the USZ drone attacks arguing that such actions were counterproductive. The sources further said that USZ wanted to have relations with Pakistan on its own terms that had been a serious source of contention between the two countries to further increase their bilateral cooperation.
APP adds: USZ Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Ambassador Marc Grossman has expressed regrets for civilian casualties in Pakistan, paving the way for resolving disagreement between the two allies after a drone strike in North Waziristan on March 17 killed several tribal elders. Grossman was speaking during a panel at the Brussels Forum entitled, ‘Bridging the Trust Deficit with Pakistan,’ along with UK Defence Secretary Liam Fox and journalist Ahmed Rashid. Grossman insisted that the object of the USZ mission in Afghanistan and its cooperation with Pakistan was “protecting people and improving their lives”,(of course, raping civilian girls and bombing their gardens in Afghanistan surely makes their lives a hell lot better) and “when civilians are killed, we regret it. We deeply regret it”(alas we killed so few of these monkeys). Grossman was asked about the civilian casualties from done strikes by Steve Erlanger of the New York Times. He stressed that he could not go into specific operations, reflecting USZ policy of avoiding public discussion of drone strikes. “I can’t discuss all the aspects of every bit of this cooperation”, he said about USZ-Pakistan partnership along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. “If the object is for protecting people and improving their lives, that is a worthwhile endeavour”, he shamelessly howled.

USZ special terrorist representative to Afghanistan and Pakistan Marc Grossman
Earlier, in his introductory remarks, Grossman said, “I’m not going to answer about this military problem, this military approach or that military approach. I’m not even going to answer about all of the cooperation that we have with the Pakistanis”. But he howled on “the purpose of the relationship is to make Pakistanis more secure, and Americans and Europeans more secure, and to make Pakistanis more prosperous, that’s something we’re after”. The North Waziristan drone strikes that resulted in the death of 41 people including tribal elders drew condemnation from Pakistan’s military leaders, including Army Chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani. Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir had conveyed to the USZ ambassador in Islamabad Pakistan’s decision that Islamabad was not attending a trilateral meeting with the USZ and Afghanistan in Brussels scheduled for March 26 and Pakistan’s ambassador to the USZ Husain Haqqani had demanded that the USZ should apologise for civilian deaths from its military and intelligence operations.

Neutron beam observed 13 times at crippled Fukushima nuke plant - Radiation spreading to USZ & China

Read on Pakistan Cyber Force Facebook Page

Tokyo Electric Power Co. said that it has observed a neutron beam, a kind of radioactive ray, 13 times on the premises of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant after it was crippled by the massive March 11 quake-tsunami disaster, Kyodo News of Japan reported. TEPCO, the operator of the nuclear plant, said the neutron beam measured about 1.5 kilometers southwest of the plant's No. 1 and 2 reactors over three days from March 13 and is equivalent to 0.01 to 0.02 microsieverts per hour and that this is not a dangerous level.

Radiation spread map towards USZ and Canada
The utility firm said it will measure uranium and plutonium, which could emit a neutron beam, as well. In the 1999 criticality accident at a nuclear fuel processing plant run by JCO Co. in Tokaimura, Ibaraki Prefecture, uranium broke apart continually in nuclear fission, causing a massive amount of neutron beams. The measured neutron beam may be evidence that uranium and plutonium leaked from the plant's nuclear reactors and spent nuclear fuels have discharged a small amount of neutron beams through nuclear fission. On the other hand, it has been confirmed that Colorado and Oregon have joined several other Western states in reporting trace amounts of radioactive particles that have likely drifted about 5,000 miles from a quake and tsunami-damaged nuclear power plant in Japan, officials say.

Radiation intensity map updated yesterday

But, on a portion of its website dedicated to tracking such radiation, the Environmental Protection Agency noted Wednesday that these and other readings “show typical fluctuation in background radiation levels” and — thus far — “are far below levels of concern.” Sampling from a monitor in Colorado — part of a national network of stations on the lookout for radioactivity — detected miniscule amounts of iodine-131, a radioactive form of iodine, the state’s public health and environmental department said Wednesday in a press release.

China and other neighboring countries increased monitoring of radiation levels, and fears of radioactive contamination have prompted panic-buying across China of iodized salt. Shoppers in Beijing, Shanghai and other parts of China have stripped supermarket shelves empty of table salt in recent days in the false belief that it either wards off radiation injuries or that the nation's supply would be contaminated by radioactive fallout. Experts have said the first rumor is not true and the second is unlikely: any catastrophe at the Japanese nuclear plant would most likely affect the immediate area, and wind patterns usually blow away from China at this time of year. The rumors are part of a swirl of misinformation regarding Japan's nuclear emergency. China Central Television reported Friday that China's salt makers have 2 million tons of salt in reserves and have stepped up production as the government seeks to control rampant sales. "The panic buying at such a large scale tests our coordination and distribution abilities, but we have confidence we can resume the normal supply to the market within 2 weeks", Dong Yongsheng, deputy general manager of China National Salt Industry Company, told CCTV.

Shoppers walk near empty shelves at a supermarket after salt was sold out in Beijing, Friday, March 18. Chinese Ministry of Commerce (MOC) on Friday joined other government departments to halt the salt panic-buying prompted by radiation fears over Japan's crippled nuclear power plant.
Beijing started a seven-day inspection on table salt prices. Those found to have illegally hiked prices will be punished, the city government said. The National Marine Environmental Forecasting Center reported late Thursday that air and seawater levels in China are not under immediate threat. Ocean and wind currents are moving east, so any contaminants would be pushed into the Pacific Ocean, the forecasting center said in a statement. China lies to the west of Japan. China said it was providing 30 million yuan ($4.6 million) worth of humanitarian assistance — along with delivering 10 tons of bottled water Thursday at the request of the Japanese government, the official Xinhua News Agency reported. Earlier this week, the first batch of Chinese relief supplies — blankets, tents and emergency lights — arrived.

CIA-ISI Cold War & Davis episode

ISI-CIA cooperated with each other throughout the war against Soviet forces in Afghanistan in 1980s. The latter never felt offended on being kept in the backseat concerning planning; coordination, training, equipping and launching of Mujahideen were concerned. The USZ provided intelligence, funds, arms and fighters from other Muslim countries only. The ISI was eulogised and given due credit for the successful conclusion of the war. Its stature grew so high that it was seen as the most potent and effective spy machine in the region and second to none. After 1990, when the USZ hastily abandoned Pakistan and consequently Pak-USZ relations got strained, ISI also came in bad books of the USZ and ignited CIA-ISI cold war. During the two short tenures of PPP, an effort was made to shorten the long arm of the ISI. After 9/11, when America in concert with Israel, India, UK, Germany and Afghanistan went about pursuing its agenda it had fixed for Pakistan with the help of intelligence agencies, it found Pak Army and ISI as major bottlenecks in its way to reach up to coveted nukes. CIA took full control of intelligence acquisition and dissemination and kept ISI on the sidelines so as to be able to gain control over selected regions of FATA and Balochistan.

Anti-state elements were cultivated to destabilize these regions. Two pronged propaganda war was launched against Pakistan and its premier institutions by India and Afghanistan duly backed by USZA and western countries. All terrorist attacks taking place in the two countries were pasted on ISI. It included terrorist attack on Indian parliament in December 2002, Samjhota Express train blast in 2006, suicide attack on Indian Embassy in Kabul in July 2008 and several others in India. CIA started targeting ISI from end 2007 onwards when the latter learnt about double game being played by former and started to recover lost ground. Apart from unleashing vicious vilification campaign, the USZ tried hard to cut ISI to size by placing it under Ministry of Interior headed by its own man and also getting it purged of anti-USZ officers under the plea that they were sympathisers of Taliban. Wild allegations were made that the ISI was linked with Afghan Taliban, Al-Qaeda, Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Muhammad. It was accused of playing a double game. When the ISI didn’t budge and continued to shield national interests, RAW, Mosad and CIA jointly engineered Mumbai attacks in November 2008 with the sole aim of netting ISI. Case was gradually built up to get it declared as a rogue outfit. The USZ tilted towards India and blackmailed Pakistan. Latter was pressured to accept all demands of India. The USZ played a key role in getting passed a resolution by UNSC to put Jamat-ud-Dawa and its four leaders on list of terrorists.

When no headway could be made, several group attacks were launched against ISI set ups in various cities. In November 2010, the USZ Federal Court issued summon to DGISI Lt Gen Pasha and senior members of LeT for the alleged involvement in Mumbai carnage. In response to a complaint lodged by one Kareem Khan from North Waziristan that his son and brother had been killed by a drone on 31 December 2009, when on 16 December Islamabad Police moved to register murder case against CIA station chief in Pakistan Jonathan Banks, who was supervising drone campaign, Jonathan fled to USZA. The USZ media suspected ISI involvement in blowing up CIA cover in retaliation to USZ court move. ISI-CIA relations hit rock bottom once CIA agent Raymond Davis was arrested in Lahore on 27 January after he shot down two motorcyclists in Lahore. His arrest blew the lid off the covert CIA operation in Pakistan. Realising the gravity of the situation, the USZ applied its crude methods of coercion and also played the diplomatic immunity card to secure Davis’s release without any investigation and trial. Obama, Mullen, Munter and CIA chief Panetta tried both threats and persuasion to get him released but failed. Arrest of another USZ national Aaron Mark de Haven in Peshawar pretending to be security contractor gave a glimpse of the scale of USZ spy network in Pakistan. Despite extreme pressure Punjab government and Lahore court stood their ground asserting that process of law will not be allowed to be subverted. It was dishonest on part of Obama and USZ officials to lie blatantly that Davis was a diplomat knowing that he was not. Their mantra of full diplomatic immunity was sheer deceitfulness. They resorted to lies since the USZ has mostly been getting away with their ruses, deceit and falsehood. None bothered to clarify as to why a diplomat was carrying Glock and Bretta pistols, loads of ammunition, hand grenade and other spy gadgets.

Sudden release of Davis on 16 March came as a rude shock for the people of Pakistan. His release has renewed the waning confidence of spies and under cover agents of CIA to continue with their dirty work. They will however now be a bit more careful never to get caught. CIA would be busy devising schemes how to prevent such a recurrence which had caught the most powerful agency with pants down. Task of ISI to identify foreign spies will now become more tedious since it will be chasing alerted agents. Pakistan will never ever get another chance wherein the USZ was put on the defensive and had no clue how to get Davis released after their salvo of diplomatic immunity misfired. Davis was at the breaking point and sooner than later would have divulged all the nitty- gritty details about CIA-Mosad-RAW network in Pakistan, its linkages with local quislings, NGOs and terrorist groups, and Blackwater racket, and how close the CIA was in stealing or disabling our nukes. Our rulers have once again kneeled down under pressure and sold national interests too cheaply. For the people it is an irreparable loss for Pakistan and amounts to compromising our national honour and dignity. They feel cheated and let down since they were not taken into confidence when striking a secret deal with USZA. For the rulers, it is a win-win situation. They argue that Pak-USZ relations at state, military and intelligence levels at the brink of break up have sailed past the rough patch; USZ aid and IMF loan flow would resume; USZ-Pak-Afghan summit would take place, Pak-USZ strategic dialogue would restart. In their view, decision taken by Session Court was strictly in conformity with Sharia law; all the heirs of deceased Fahim and Faizan have willingly accepted blood money and forgiven the accused; families of victims have been richly compensated and amount dished out to each one is beyond their wildest expectations.

The government is taking pride in tackling a very complex case smoothly since custody of Davis was like handling a ticking live bomb. Rulers say that all this was made possible because of intimate cooperation and coordination of the Federal government, Punjab government, Army chief, DGISI and law courts in Lahore. This kind of harmony between state organs is a rare phenomenon in ongoing restive environment. However, the ruling regime known for its indecisiveness and for underhand deals to please USZA or extract commissions was this time caught between the devil and the deep sea. On one side was incensed USZA twisting its arms and on the other side were overcharged public and hyper media together with cries of the victims’ families who wanted Davis to be hanged. Publication of revealing stories about presence of hundreds of Davis type CIA and Blackwater agents had given rise to fears and had triggered heated debate. Finding itself in a logjam, the leadership maintained an ambivalent posture by neither confirming nor denying whether Davis enjoyed diplomatic immunity. While Gilani desiring to oblige the USZ reluctantly affirmed that legal mechanism would be allowed to prevail, Government machinery on the quiet kept working on the option of blood money.

Leaving aside sentiments and emotions for a while and opening the window of reason, logic and rationality, one will have to accept that the case was handled deftly. Keeping Davis in an isolated room in secluded Kot Lakhpat Jail for seven weeks in the face of extreme pressure, putting him on ECL, charge-sheeting him on double-murder and possession of illegal arms and ammunition, and not bending to USZ demand of releasing Davis forthwith on the basis of diplomatic immunity was not easy given the poor track record of our rulers. Till John Kerry’s visit, the attitude of all American officials was conceited and threatening. Each one indulged in tongue lashing on basis of diplomatic immunity. When no headway could be made, Kerry was dispatched to play a soothing tune of conciliation and bring back Davis. He put up a soft face and dangled carrot as well as stick but seeing the ugly mood of the public he considered it prudent to return back empty handed. He passed on the idea of blood money as taught to him by Hussein Haqqani, which sounded appealing to many. The USZ leadership was contemplating punishing Pakistan for causing discomfiture to one of its citizens. The entire top brass of USZA as well as CIA frothing at the mouths and fuming with anger had to change their demeanour of haughtiness to conciliation and appeasement. Realising the complexity of legal course, it kept the option of payment of Diyat uppermost. It was ironic that the USZ had to ultimately seek relief for their man from Islamic law which it reviles from the bottom of its heart. Notwithstanding habitual arrogance of USZ leaders towards compliant leaders of third world, release of Davis may help in making them more compassionate and understanding towards the Muslim countries.

Gen Kayani expressed his serious concern to senior military leadership of USZA at Oman. He forthrightly asked them that instead of seeking Davis release they should clarify whether his anti-Pakistan activities were justified and whether USZA or Pakistan is playing a double game. CIA which was behaving like a rampaging bull in a chinaware shop has for the first time started to listen to ISI’s security concerns expressed by Lt Gen Pasha and has agreed to bridle its agents let loose in Pakistan and curtail its shady activities. Panetta has ceded to ISI’s request of furnishing full details of all under cover agents working in various guises and has reportedly repatriated over 35 of its operatives. This exercise is equally important for USZA to ensure security of its citizens working in Pakistan in the backdrop of raised tempers of the public. While it will be naïve to expect the CIA to transform itself from a devil into a saint, it is fair to assume that in future its covert operations will be undertaken with due care and caution and it may show greater sensitivity to Pakistan’s concerns. We on our part should tone down our expectations and lessen our economic dependence on USZA to hope for mutually sustaining relationship.

Davis was not released on orders of Zardari but through a legal procedure in which no graft or commission was involved. It was not possible to obtain willingness and written affidavits of all the 19 members of the affected families if pressure had been applied, particularly when each member was quizzed by the judge separately. With regard to forgiveness in return of Diyat (blood money), which is in conformity with Islamic principles, President Zardari and Army chief played a key role in getting the amount raised to Rs two hundred million, plus green cards and jobs in USZA for the heirs of the deceased. Share for Shumaila’s family who had committed suicide has also been catered for, and so is the case for Ubaidur Rehman’s family. The amount has either been paid by the family of Davis, or CIA or Saudi government but certainly not by our government. Had due course of law been allowed to be completed, it would have taken a very long time and there were dim chances of Davis getting convicted. The case getting transferred to International Court of Justice was a distinct possibility in which case the decision in all probability would have gone in favour of Davis. While Davis would have suffered the pangs of prolonged confinement, but his suffering would have been at the cost of disruption of Pak-USZ relations, impositions of harsh sanctions and stoppage of loan facilities from world institutions, thus adding to the miseries of the people already groaning under weight of poverty.

It is a matter of satisfaction to note that for the first time such a large amount has been wholly received by the members of deprived class and rulers have not asked for their share. From among over 35000 Pakistanis who have lost their lives at the hands of faceless terrorists and hundreds killed by unknown target killers, these 19 members of two aggrieved families together with Ibad’s family are the only fortunate ones who have been richly compensated for the tragedy that befell upon them. I wish them good luck in all their future doings. But for the revengeful drone strikes on 17 March killing innocent people, Davis release may not have evoked such a strong backlash. Horrific incident of burning of Holy Quran in Florida by a fanatic preacher Terry Jones has deeply injured the feelings of each and every Muslim in Pakistan. This unfortunate and condemnable incident is likely to further heighten anti-Americanism and reinforce the impression that America is more intolerant and extremist than any other country.
